Mower motor for Wheelhorse A60 wanted

Mower motor for Wheelhorse A60 wanted

Postby JJMc » Tue Jun 17, 2014 2:37 am

I am looking for a new or used (in good condition) electric mower motor for my Wheelhorse A60. It has a two-motor mid-mount deck. The motor I need to replace has this information on it:

American Bosch
Columbus, Mississipi
05925-24-M048HM (the zero's appear to be numbers, not the letter "o")
36V

I have one that works, and one that doesn't.

Thanks, Jerry

Jerry,

Have you taken it to an electric motor shop? They can check it out for you and possibly repair it.

Yes, there is a place that could rebuild it. I was told it would probably be more expensive than buying a used one.

Don't get rid of it, either way. They may just be made of unobtainium.

You were told correct. If you can't find one to repair it, I would gladly take a look at it for the shipping cost and determine whether it could be fixed. There is a circuit breaker built in to that motor, like the others, but I'm not sure if it's a thermal or current type. Either type could be bad, preventing it from running. There is still a chance that the armature and or brushes are still good. Someone just needs to look at it! Take it to a motor shop. It will be worth the time.

Jerry,

I think Harold Z. can get you a replacement. It will be expensive.

You might also ask on the "Tuffs List" discussion board. I believe it has the same deck motor as the E-141.

Too bad there is not enough room for the A-65 style motors. I am sure there are a few of those around. I have one.

It took quite a while to have it looked at. The brushes are gone and the armature is bent. The rebuilder told me it couldn't be repaired.
Why won't the A-65 motors fit?

Jerry,

Harold Zimmerman just posted, he has a limited number of the bosch motors available.
